Cyanogenmod 7.x with Tiamat kernel on HTC Desire S (saga)

Changelog for the nightly releases.

Initial installation

(shortened version from Cyanogenmod Wiki)

  1. Gain S-OFF
  2. Download Cyanogenmod (either stable or nightly), Google Apps and Tiamat kernel
  3. Put those on the SD-card
  4. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery
  5. Wipe data/factory reset
  6. Wipe cache
  7. Install zip from sdcard (first Cyanogenmod, then Google Apps)
  8. Reboot
  9. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery, create a backup
  10. Wipe cache partition, then install Tiamat Kernel from zip

Updating from a previous release

  1. Put Cyanogenmod and Tiamat zip files on the SD-card
  2. Boot into ClockworkMod recovery
  3. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache
  4. Flash both zip files, as the current kernel gets overwritten by installing Cyanogenmod

Optional radio update

If your GPS or radio signal seems too low, try to flash a newer radio version. First, research in the xda forums to make sure to pick the correct version and make yourself familiar with the installation instructions. You might brick the phone if not done correctly.

I suggest you to upload the firmware via adb as you can check the integrity with MD5 which probably makes sense for such an update. Delete PG88IMG.zip after the installation.
