XBMC Live on Zotac ZBOX ID41
Components:
- Zotac ZBOX ID41 (the "empty" version)
- 2x 2GB Kingston 204-pin DDR3 SODIMM (1333 MHz, which is not needed but I couldn't find 800 MHz modules)
- 60 GB Patriot Pyro SATA3 SSD
- Logitech K400 Bluetooth keyboard
XBMC Live installation
- Download XBMC Live 10.1
- Burn onto an USB stick (dd/unetbootin)
- Boot & install
Tuning
SSD
Enable TRIM in /etc/fstab with:
/dev/sdXn / ext4 noatime,discard 0 1
Audio
As my receiver doesn't provide HDMI inputs, I had to switch to optical audio. Just set audio output to use the Intel iec958 device.
Bluetooth
Worked out of the box.
Open issues
- Hibernate doesn't work
- Enable "Dirty regions" to lower CPU usage and fan speed when XBMC is idle
